Former Catholic Worker and Plowshares activist Bruce Friedrich will lead a discussion of vegetarianism as an ingredient in lived nonviolence. Bruce will speak briefly about the contributions of modern agriculture to environmental problems, global poverty, and cruelty to animals, after which he hopes for a spirited discussion. Bruce lived at the Dorothy Day Catholic Worker from 1990-1996 and was a member of the Pax Christi-Spirit of Life Plowshares action, for which he spent 15 months in prison.

  1. Will this be filmed or recorded?

  2. Looks like a great event! Wish I could be there.

    A possible question for discussion:

When we have a full selection of plant-based foods available to us, is there truly a non-violent way to kill an animal for food?
