The Peace Crane Memorial
On the Mall at 15th Street near Constitution Ave.

In front of the U.S. Capitol Building.
Quakers from Las Cruces, New Mexico, Monthly Meeting are bringing an exhibit of 4,000 paper peace cranes representing U. S. military personnel who have dies in Iraq to Washington over the Memorial Day weekend. This “Peace Crane Wall” contains 110 panels with the 4,000 cranes along with photographs and biographic information about the soldiers sailors, Marines and Air Force personnel who have died since the war began. The exhibit extends for nearly 100 yards, the length of a football field. It has been displayed in Las Cruces, in Silver City, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
